New service connects parents and students with expert coaches, courses, and tools for college planning.

LifeLaunchr announced today the immediate launch of the world’s first marketplace for college admissions coaching. The new service makes available for the first time, expert coaching, courses, and tools for college planning available in one place at an affordable price, and in many cases for free.

The new service, available at https://www.lifelaunchr.com is a platform where parents and students can find courses created by experts on every aspect of college planning, including essay writing, scholarships, college selection, and financial aid. Many of these courses are free, and all are affordable. The new marketplace for college admissions coaching also enables parents and students to sign up for expert personalized coaching using the platform. LifeLaunchr verifies the credentials of each coach, and coaches are rated and reviewed by the community. Finally students and parents can use the tools on the site to find great-fit colleges and programs and follow them using a social media platform. They will then receive reminders of deadlines and requirements for each school.

“With the average cost of a four-year education after financial aid between $80,000 and $120,000, and the average student loan debt at $35,000, parents and families need expert help with college planning. Schools don’t always have the resources to provide the kind of coaching students need,” said Venkates Swaminathan, founder and CEO of LifeLaunchr. “LifeLaunchr fills a gap between do-it-yourself research on the web, for which parents and students lack expertise and context, and hiring expensive coaches who cost anywhere from $5,000 to $30,000.”

“LifeLaunchr is a platform that allows coaches like me to have our courses discovered by a worldwide audience seeking help with all aspects of college planning,” said Ethan Sawyer, the College Essay Guy. “I appreciate how, through LifeLaunchr, creative resources and professional guidance will have the potential to reach many more parents and students.”

“College planning is a stressful experience for millions of parents and students, and the complexity of the options make it critical to get expert help,” said Ketan Kothari, General Manager of the Consumer division at Edmodo, the number one K-12 social learning network in the world. “We’re excited that LifeLaunchr is emerging to tackle the challenge of helping parents and students everywhere access this resource affordably and with high quality.”

Parents and students can sign up right now for free at https://www.lifelaunchr.com, and for a limited time, two courses that would normally cost $99 are free. One is “10 Strategies to Impress College Admissions Officials,” by Linda King, who teaches college counseling at Long Island University and Russell Sage College in New York, and “15 Ways to Cut College Costs,” by Jean O’Toole, who has helped over 150,000 students find and win scholarships for college.
