LIFELAUNCHR, INC. PRIVACY POLICY
Effective Date: August 15, 2026 | Last Updated: August 15, 2026
Introduction
LifeLaunchr, Inc. (“LifeLaunchr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of the students and families we work with. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have.
We take privacy seriously — especially because our clients include high school students, and the information we work with is often sensitive. We collect what we need to do our jobs well. We protect it carefully. We don’t sell it.
This policy applies to:
- Students and families enrolled in LifeLaunchr coaching programs
- Visitors to our website (lifelaunchr.com)
- Users of the Soar platform to the extent their data is collected or processed as part of a LifeLaunchr coaching relationship; standalone Soar platform use is governed primarily by the Soar Privacy Policy
- Anyone who signs up for our email list or downloads our resources
If you use Soar as part of a LifeLaunchr coaching engagement, certain platform-specific processing may also be governed by the Soar Privacy Policy. In the event of a conflict relating specifically to Soar platform functionality, the Soar Privacy Policy will control for that processing, while this Privacy Policy will continue to govern LifeLaunchr coaching services and related client records.
By enrolling in our services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and agree to its terms. Visitors to our website and individuals who submit their email address to receive resources acknowledge that their use of our site and submission of information is subject to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly. When you enroll in a program, request a consultation, or otherwise interact with us, you may provide:
- Student and parent/guardian names, email addresses, phone numbers, and mailing address
- Academic information: GPA, course load, class rank, SAT/ACT/AP scores
- Financial information shared for aid planning discussions
- College application materials: essays, activity lists, application drafts
- Background on the student’s interests, goals, and experiences
Information from sessions. When you attend coaching sessions:
- Sessions are conducted via Zoom and are recorded and transcribed
- Session notes and written reports are generated from those recordings and transcripts
Information from our website. When you visit lifelaunchr.com, we automatically collect standard website data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time on site. This is collected through Google Analytics and may include other analytics tools we use from time to time.
Information from email sign-ups. If you download our handbook or other resources, we collect your email address and any other information you provide, along with your consent preferences for marketing and data storage.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. LifeLaunchr does not store your payment card number — Stripe handles all payment card data under their own privacy and security standards.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver coaching services and communicate with you about your program
- Prepare session reports and track student progress
- Review essays and application materials and provide feedback
- Recommend and coordinate partner services where relevant
- Process payments and maintain financial records
- Send service-related communications (session confirmations, reports, reminders)
- Send marketing communications to those who have opted in
- Operate and improve the Soar platform (excluding use of personal data to train or fine-tune AI or machine learning models)
- Comply with our legal obligations
We do not use your personal information for purposes that are materially inconsistent with the services described in this policy.
3. How We Share Your Information
Partner service providers. If you enroll in a partner service, we will share your student’s name, your name, and your email address with Launch by Editate, Inc., the platform through which those services are delivered. When you enroll in a specific service, the relevant information is entered into the Launch platform and may be shared with the service provider (such as a tutor, research mentor, or career counselor) who will be delivering the service. Each service provider operates under Launch’s privacy policy and is permitted to use the shared information only for the purpose of delivering the enrolled service.
Third-party tools. We use tools that process personal information on our behalf as part of delivering our services. See Section 5 for details on each.
Legal process and subpoenas. We may receive a subpoena, court order, government request, or other legal process requiring disclosure of personal information. When we do, we will review it for legal validity before complying. Where we are legally permitted to do so, we will notify the affected client before producing records, so they have the opportunity to seek a protective order or otherwise object. We will produce only what is legally required. We cannot always provide advance notice — some legal process prohibits it, including certain grand jury proceedings and national security requests.
Legal requirements. Beyond formal legal process, we may disclose information when necessary to protect the safety of any person, prevent fraud, or respond to an emergency.
Business transfers. If LifeLaunchr is acquired, merges with another organization, or transfers its assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. Where practicable and permitted by law, we will endeavor to notify current clients of any such transfer.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising or marketing purposes outside of LifeLaunchr.
4. Session Recordings and Transcripts
All coaching sessions are conducted via Zoom and are recorded and automatically transcribed. We use these recordings and transcripts for internal note-taking — they help your counselor stay on top of the work and give you their full attention during the session itself.
LifeLaunchr’s recordings. We record sessions via Zoom and use Zoom’s built-in transcription and Otter.ai to generate transcripts. We may use other transcription or note-taking tools from time to time and will update this policy when we make material changes to tools that process personal data.
Access and sharing. Recordings and transcripts generated by LifeLaunchr are used only by your counselor for internal purposes. We do not release, distribute, or provide access to our session recordings or transcripts to clients or third parties, except as required by law.
Student-initiated recordings. Some students or families use their own recording or transcription tools during sessions. Recordings made independently by a student or family member are their own records and are not covered by this policy. LifeLaunchr has no control over third-party tools used independently by clients.
Zoom. Sessions are hosted on Zoom, which processes recordings according to Zoom’s privacy policy: zoom.us/privacy.
Otter.ai. We currently use Otter.ai to assist with transcription. Session audio is processed by Otter.ai on their servers under their privacy policy: otter.ai/privacy.
Retention. Session recordings are retained for two years after your program ends and then permanently deleted. Session transcripts are retained for three years after your program ends. You may request early deletion — see Section 10.
By attending a session, you consent to recording and automated transcription by LifeLaunchr as described here and in our Terms of Service.
5. Third-Party Tools and Data Processors

We select tools that meet our standards for privacy and security, and we share only the minimum information necessary for each tool to perform its function.
6. The Soar Platform and AI Processing
Soar is LifeLaunchr’s AI-powered college and career research platform, built on Anthropic’s Claude API. When you use Soar, the information you enter — including college preferences, academic profile details, and research queries — is transmitted to and processed by Anthropic’s servers as part of how the AI functions.
What this means. Your inputs into Soar are processed by Anthropic as well as by LifeLaunchr. We have selected Anthropic based on their strong privacy and security practices, and we do not send more information than necessary to power the platform. Under Anthropic’s API terms, inputs submitted via the API are not used to train Anthropic’s models by default. You can review Anthropic’s privacy practices at anthropic.com/privacy.
AI limitations. Soar’s responses are generated by AI and may not always be accurate or complete. Please treat AI-generated information as a starting point and discuss it with your counselor before acting on it.
Questions about Soar data. If you have specific concerns about how your information is processed within Soar, please contact us at privacy@lifelaunchr.com before using the platform.
7. Cookies and Website Analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to understand how visitors use the site and to improve the experience.
What we collect. Pages visited, time on site, browser and device type, referring website, and general geographic location (city or region level — not precise location).
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, which uses cookies to collect data about your activity on our site. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
Your choices. Most browsers allow you to control or block cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may affect some website functionality but will not prevent you from using our services.
8. Data Retention
We retain different categories of data for different periods, after which we delete or anonymize it.
| Data Type | Retention Period |
| Client records (contact info, academic records, essays) | 5 years after program ends |
| Session recordings | 2 years after program ends |
| Session transcripts | 3 years after program ends |

| Website analytics | 14 months |
You may request deletion of your information before the end of the applicable retention period — see Section 10 below for how to submit a request.
9. Children’s Privacy and Minor Students
Many of our clients are students under 18. We handle their information with particular care.
Parental consent. Enrollment in a LifeLaunchr program by a parent or guardian constitutes consent for the collection and use of the student’s personal information as described in this policy.
Children under 13. LifeLaunchr’s services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verified parental consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, please contact us at privacy@lifelaunchr.com and we will delete it promptly.
Parental access and deletion. Parents and guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their minor child’s personal information at any time using the methods described in Section 10.
10. Your Privacy Rights
California residents have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
Right to know. You may request a summary of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you — where it came from, how we use it, and who we share it with.
Right to delete. You may request deletion of your personal information. We will honor the request subject to exceptions required by law (for example, we may need to retain financial records for tax purposes).
Right to correct. You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
Right to opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information. There is nothing to opt out of.
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. To the extent we collect sensitive personal information (such as academic records and financial information), you may request that we limit our use of that information to what is necessary to perform the services you requested.
Right to non-discrimination. We will not charge you more, provide lower-quality service, or otherwise penalize you for exercising your privacy rights.
How to submit a request. Email privacy@lifelaunchr.com with your request. We will acknowledge receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. Where necessary, we may extend the response period by an additional 45 days (90 days total) and will notify you of any such extension within the initial 45-day period. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request. If you are submitting a request on behalf of a minor student, we may also require information sufficient to confirm your authority to act for that student.
11. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), password-protected systems, and restricted internal access based on job function.
No security system is perfect. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately at privacy@lifelaunchr.com.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll post the updated version here with a revised effective date. For material changes — particularly those that affect how we collect, use, or share your information — we will notify current clients by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of LifeLaunchr services after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
