Graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelors of Science in History, minors in Latin American Studies, Secondary Education, and Spanish, and a Masters in Science in College Student Development and Counseling.

Stacy Hernandez began her career in education as an admissions counselor at Northeastern University and then Johns Hopkins University. She spent almost twelve years on the college side reading thousands of college applications, making admissions decisions, traveling the United States to recruit students, and more. Additionally, she has worked on the high school side as the Director of College Counseling at a private K-12 school in the Boulder-area of Colorado. Currently, she works as an independent college counselor guiding students through the college admissions process and volunteers for a few non-profit organizations to help more students gain access to college.

Stacy enjoys getting to know the students she works with as well as tailoring the process to their interests and needs. She has a very open, non-judgemental approach and provides a comfortable style in order to allow students to express who they are and where they are at fully. She works best with students who are seeking strategic college admissions advice and are able to take the guidance and run with it in a more independent manner. Stacy has worked with a diverse range of students of varying academic backgrounds and personal interests, so she can provide solid college admissions advice a variety of different types of high school students.

Stacy is a mother of two daughters and always thinking of how to improve as a parent and a professional. She applies her personal experiences and professional background to the work she does with students on a daily basis. As a result of her years of experience and being a parent herself, she understands the stress and confusion of the admissions process as well as raising an adolescent in this day and age. Outside of work, Stacy has a fun life with her family and has a strong mindfulness practice in which she tries to embed in the work she does with students through consciously talking to them about how to de-stress the process.
