Craft Effective, Winning Personal Insight Question Responses
The University of California requires responses to four personal insight questions (out of eight). These questions require particular approaches to be successful. Our coaches help you learn the intent behind each Personal Insight Question, review the questions, and explore stories that address them. We help you brainstorm themes for each of your four PIQ responses.
Craft an Activity List That Maximizes Your Impact
The UC application places great emphasis on the activity list, allowing students to present detailed descriptions of their extracurricular interests. We will work with you to help you craft detailed, powerful descriptions that focus on what UC admissions officials care about.
Fill Out the Application to Highlight Your Strengths
We guide you in completing the UC and CSU applications completely and thoroughly, including accurately entering coursework and grades in the UC application and the CSU portal (Cal State Apply). We also help you use the Additional Information sections effectively to provide context.

Craft a Winning UC and CSU application
Character Strength and Values Analysis for Self-Discovery
- Identifying your values and character strengths is critical in filling out the UC and CSU applications. We use tools like the VIA Character Strengths assessment and other tools to discover your values, character strengths, and the most important things you want to communicate in your application.
Brainstorm and select compelling topics for your UC PIQs
- Our PIQ process helps students explore their activities and interests and find the ones that highlight the qualities they want to highlight on their UC application, identifying and emphasizing leadership, intellectual curiosity, preparation, initiative, and growth.
Structure, revise, and finalize the the UC PIQs
- We guide you through early drafts of their UC PIQs, helping you address the UCs’ specific concerns. We also show you how to use structure and content to emphasize your strengths.
Detailed Written Feedback to Finalize Your Personal Statement
- The program includes 12 written reviews of your UC PIQs (three per UC PIQ), with detailed written feedback on content, style, structure, grammar, and punctuation.
Resumé and Activities List Development for the UC application
- We help draft and finalize resumé and activity lists for applications using LifeLaunchr’s proprietary tools and the coach’s input.

Enter Academic Information Completely and Correctly
- Guide the student to complete the academic information in the UC and CSU applications accurately, based on the most recent UC and CSU guidelines.

Cost
The California Public University Coaching Program costs US$1,995, paid one time at the beginning of the program. We limit enrollments to ensure quality.
Meetings are usually thirty (30) minutes long and held weekly, although the exact schedule depends on what is needed and student and coach schedules.
It is intended for juniors and seniors in high school.

Package Details
The program includes 5 hours of work done by our coach, which includes meeting time, time doing research, and other work. Emails that require minimal (less than five minutes) effort to respond to are not counted.
The CommonApp Coaching Program includes 12 detailed written reviews of UC PIQs (three per PIQ). Our PIQ response development process involves many steps, including brainstorming and initial drafts that are discussed during meetings. The limit applies to drafts that receive written feedback. Additional hours of coaching are available for $225/hour ($112.50 per 30-minute meeting). Additional reviews cost $55 per detailed written review or $600 for a (non-refundable) pack of 12.
