MFA in Writing from California College of the Arts
BFA in Filmmaking and Electronic Arts from Bard College
With over 20 years of experience, I have worked with hundreds of students and clients at all stages of the college application process on both undergraduate, transfer, and graduate admissions.
My students consistently gain admission to Ivy League institutions, top research universities, UC campuses, liberal arts colleges, and specialized art schools. Recent admits include Stanford, Brown, Princeton, Cornell, MIT, UCLA, Berkeley, Middlebury, Duke, RISD, and Cambridge, among many others.
I work with a diverse range of students, including those pursuing STEM and business, as well as arts and humanities students with interdisciplinary or creative interests. I specialize in helping students articulate the depth of their intellectual and artistic pursuits, ensuring they craft compelling applications that highlight their technical expertise and personal vision. Whether guiding a future engineer through a research-intensive application or helping a writer, artist, or historian develop a distinctive narrative, I support students in creating authentic and strategically compelling applications.
Beyond working directly with students, I have mentored other college counselors, led essay-writing workshops, and participated in webinars on various college admissions topics.
My coaching philosophy is deeply student-centered, prioritizing creativity, student voice, and individualized strategy. I believe that a strong application is both a reflection of a student’s authentic self and a carefully curated narrative designed to resonate with admissions committees.
Admissions is a dynamic and ever-evolving field, and I stay current on trends, policy changes, and shifting institutional priorities to provide students with the best advice and guidance.
Above all, I help students approach the process with confidence, curiosity, and clarity, ensuring they present a compelling and authentic case for admission to their best-fit schools.
When I’m not immersed in all things admissions, you’ll find me teaching and practicing yoga, writing and reading fiction, gardening, exploring California, and spending time with my cat. I also recently co-founded and now co-edit the literary arts journal, Nulla, which you can find at thenull.com. When not immersed in all things admissions, you can find me teaching and practicing yoga, writing and reading fiction, gardening, traveling around California, and hanging out with my cat.
