The earlier, the better, but it’s never too late. Families who start in freshman or sophomore year have the most flexibility to build a strong application profile. That said, we work with juniors and seniors every year and can make a meaningful difference even when starting in the spring of junior year.
Our comprehensive coaching programs cover the full process — college research and list-building, application strategy, essays, financial aid guidance, and everything in between. Our targeted packages are designed for families who want expert help with a specific part of the process, like the Common App personal statement, UC application, or activities list. NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling) is the leading professional organization for college admissions professionals. HECA (Higher Education Consultants Association) is the professional body specifically for independent educational consultants. Both organizations hold members to a formal code of ethics. Importantly, HECA membership prohibits accepting referral fees or commissions from colleges — which means our recommendations are always based on what’s right for your student, not financial incentives. When you work with a NACAC and HECA member, you have assurance that you’re working with a credentialed professional committed to ethical practice.

Yes. Every LifeLaunchr coaching package includes access to Soar, our AI college and career planning assistant, which helps students stay engaged and make progress between sessions, and keeps counselors, parents, and students connected, so everyone is on the same page.
Coaching sessions are valuable, but they’re finite. Soar keeps students moving forward in between — researching colleges, exploring majors and careers, building their lists, and searching for scholarships. It’s built specifically for the college and career planning process, not a general-purpose AI tool, which means the guidance it provides is grounded in real admissions data and our coaches’ methodology. Think of it as having a knowledgeable resource available whenever your student has a question — not just during scheduled sessions.
No — and this is an important distinction. Our coaches use our carefully designed process to help your teen write their essays and tell their stories. Soar helps with research and planning, but will not write essays, and we do not use it for essay coaching. Admissions officers read thousands of applications. The ones that stand out are genuinely personal. An essay written by AI, or heavily shaped by one, tends to read like it. That’s not a risk worth taking.
Your student’s voice is their greatest asset in the application process. Our job — and our coaches’ job — is to help them find it.
