I earned a College Counseling Certificate from the UCLA Extension program. I am a recovering attorney with a JD from McGeorge School of Law (Sacramento, CA) and a BA from UC Davis. I also spent a year abroad at the University of Kent at Canterbury (UK).
In addition to my years as an attorney, I have worked as an independent college counselor since 2014 and have helped students find homes across the spectrum of colleges from Smith to UCLA to Beloit College to Sonoma State. I am an experienced writer and editor and provide seminars on a range of college related topics. Please visit my website at http://www.getsmartforcollege.com/about
There are great colleges for EVERYBODY, the trick is finding them. I have worked with high academic achievers, B students and C students. I have worked with students who excel at test taking and others with a modest performance.
My mission is to cut through the anxiety and help students find the colleges where they can thrive and grow, where learning becomes an adventure.
There are A+ schools for B students, and great schools for C students, and of course a whole bunch of schools for the academically inclined. There are thousands of schools in the US and beyond. Where will you be happy, challenged, encouraged to evolve?
I am a Los Angeles native who has traveled to China, Hungary, Austria, and England as a student. I have wandered through Japan, France, and Germany too. I write murder mysteries because it is much more fun to kill off lawyers than to work as one. I own and occasionally drive a 1958 Triumph TR3A, the basis for my logo. I live in Southern California with my husband and three large furry dogs. My son currently attends Beloit College and has a newfound passion for education.
