Summary:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Software Engineering (Double Major at University of Texas at Dallas)
  • Master of Science in Computer Science (University of Texas at Dallas)
  • Master in Business Administration (MBA from University of Texas at Austin)

Details:
I started originally in computer science at the University of Texas in Dallas. After receiving my degree, I began working full time in consulting where I was building customer facing web applications for large hospitals (Stanford) while at the same time taking night classes towards a graduate degree in computer science at UTD.

After receiving my graduate degree at UTD, I moved to Austin, TX and began working for technology consulting companies building a variety of customer facing portals that were used by millions of people. After 4 years of technology consulting, I wanted to run my own company but needed to better understand how to start and grow a company. I decided to apply for the top 20 MBA programs in the US and ended up getting my MBA at University of Texas at Austin while working full time yet again.

Post MBA, I decided to switch to management consulting at Deloitte where I could work directly with multi-billion dollar company executives to create strategic changes within their Information Technology departments. While at Deloitte, I realized that I really want to share my knowledge, experience, and professional success with students to set them up to win after graduating. Today I work closely with my co-founder Sylvia Yang to provide the best possible career coaching, educational guidance, and University application support services to our customers.

Over 12 years of client facing consulting both in technology and management consulting. Worked for companies as little as 200 people and as big as 250,000 employees, providing advice and guidance to fortune 500 companies all over the USA. Created applications that supported millions of dollars in product sales, managed teams of 5-10 people, have hired and fired employees. I am extremely familiar with the many different types of career opportunities out there, how to prepare effectively so you can apply for your dream job, how to select a degree that matches your career goals, and the soft skills necessary to wow your interviewers so you have a better chance to get hired. I am very familiar with all the major types of USA work visas and how to prepare yourself to beat the competition.

I believe strongly that every person must first think about what they are passionate about and would like to pursue both in the short and long term. In most cases, this is your job/career conversation and the end result could be to work for someone, start your own business, go into teaching/research, or some other life path.

We start with:

  • Potential careers after college and brainstorm a path to successfully get you there
  • From there, we collaboratively discuss a lot of other factors (academics, ranking, city/location, tuition) to help you decide IF an educational degree, a professional certificate, or applying directly for jobs is the way to go
  • We help you execute your plan through every step of the higher education process including selecting a major, picking schools, brainstorming/editing your documents (essays, letters of recommendation, resume, etc.), filling out your application, preparing you for video or in person interviews, helping you choose the best options from schools that said yes, and even visa help if you are an international student

Besides coaching and training, you'll find me

  • Traveling around the world
  • Looking for the coolest restaurants
  • Learning something new
  • Enjoying beaches and parks on sunny days
  • At a Karaoke Lounge
